CARING YOUR CHILDREN’TEETH First oral care hygiene The mouth receives a strong emotional load and takes an active part in the multiple developments of children. Children can benefit from a good physical and psychological development taking care of their teeth from their appearance. Before 2 years old ▪ Protect baby’s first teeth by cleaning it 2 times per day, for example the morning after the breakfast and the evening before sleeping, using a cotton bud or a compress soaked with BUCCOTHERM Dental spray. ▪ Avoid the prolonged use of feeding-bottle which exposes the teeth to sugared drinks and increases the risk of decay. ▪ Avoid giving a feeding-bottle containing milk, fruit juices or others sugared drinks before sleeping. Prefer water. Between 2 and 4 years old ▪ From 2 years old, parents must impose a daily hygiene ritual (for example 1 time/day before sleeping) and let the child taking more and more autonomy with brushings. ▪ Encourage your child to brush teeth, do it at the same time as him, he will want to make the same as you. ▪ Because a child from 2 to 4 years old cannot spit yet, limit the amount of toothpaste to put on his toothbrush. |
